When did you decide to become a musician?
5th grade
How would you describe your sound and genre?
Neosoul/Gospel with a kick of jazz
Besides your art, what other things do you love to do?
Shop, take pictures, spend time with family and meet new people
Who or what are your main inspirations? Groups? Specific albums? Writers?
Jonathan McReynolds (Cycles), The Clark Sisters, ASA (Beautiful), India Arie (Worthy), & The Soil
How does your identity influence your music?
As a black woman, I find peace in singing songs that uplift other black woman. As a Christian I find the power of healing for myself and listeners in singing from my soul.
Why do you love about performing?
I love being able to share my gift with others.For me, the smiles, claps, snaps and laughter are all a part of the performance. Together we make music.
What do you hope to gain from this performance?
I hope to go out of my comfort zone and sing as a solo artist rather than leading in front of a choir as I've been used to. I also hope to nurture my voice in a new environment and hear all the beauty that Philadelphia's artist have to offer.
What is your favorite type of candy?
Sour Gummy Worms
