NxG

How would you describe your music to people?

The product of Frank Ocean, Trippie Redd, Drake & Lil Uzi having a child.

What first got you into music?

Music touched me when I truly felt alone in this world. I began to take it seriously as something I wanted to do once I realized I wanted to help someone else in the same way that I was helped.

What kind of energy, vibe, or message do you hope to spread?

I want to let people know they are not alone in their journey, in the ups and the down

Who or what are your main inspirations? Groups? Specific albums?

Growing up, Nirvana and Coldplay were my favorite bands. I wanted to form a rock band until I realized that rock was a dying genre, and that hip-hop was taking over. From that point on, I started listening to rap artists such as Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean. The most influential body of work that I have ever listened to is Trippie Redd's ALLTY2.

How does your identity influence your music?

In my opinion, self-knowledge fuels art. As I've come into my own and accepted my identity as a Nigerian-British-American, my music has begun to become more authentic and personal.

Why do you love about performing?

My favorite thing about performing is using my music as a tool to relate to others. Performing allows me to get in front of a new audience and share my message and empower others.

How has the Internet helped you jumpstart your career?

Social Media has allowed me to connect with people who I would not normally be able to reach.

What is your favorite type of candy?

Skittles
