Jeremy Cousar
When did you decide to become a musician?
It’s been a God given talent since I was young. I used to sing on the gospel choir and eventually got into theater and haven’t stopped since to be honest.
How would you describe your sound and genre?
R&B/Pop
Besides music, what other things do you love to do?
Travel, Eat, Write, Chill with Friends/Family, Laugh, Volunteer, Watch Bob’s Burgers, be a good person.
Who or what are your main inspirations? Groups? Specific albums? Writers?
I grew up on Old-School music so artists like: Earth Wind & Fire, Shalamar, Cheryl Lynn, Patrice Rushen, The Four Tops, Ready For The World, The Temptations, Guy, The Jackson 5, Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, The Chi-Lites, Prince, etc. As well as contemporary artists like: J.Cole, Beyoncé, John Legend, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, 6LACK, Jarell Perry, NAO, Rihanna, Xavier Omar, H.E.R, DVSN, Ariana Grande, Jhené Aiko, MAAD, Maxwell, Miguel etc.
How does your identity influence your music?
It’s truly who I am. I feel as though I give individuals a more refined/in-depth piece of who I am as an individual.
Why do you love about performing?
The absence of time. It’s something spiritual; The energy that is shared between the artist and the audience is truly unmatched in comparison to anything in this world.
What is your favorite type of candy?
Life-Saver Gummies, Twix, Sour Patch Kids
